Ingredients
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground sirloin
- 1 (28oz) can whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 (15oz) can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (12oz) bottle beer
- 1/2 cup reduced sodium beef broth
Preparation
Step 1
heat oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat. add onion to pan; saute 3 mins. add garlic to pan; sauce 1 mins. add chili powder, salt and beef; cook 8 mins or until beef is browned, stirring to crumble. add tomatoes and remaining ingredients, bring to a boil. reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until mixture is thick, stirring occasionally. serve over hot dogs, garnish with sliced green onions, relish and reduced fat cheddar cheese if desired.
