DILL PICKLES

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • alum - size of a pea
  • put in bottom of each bottle
  • 2 qts water
  • 1 qt vinegar
  • 1 cup coarse salt
  • (1 qt equals 5 cups)

Preparation

Step 1

Wash cukes and put into bottles. Put a piece of dill in bottom of bottle and another on top. Bring to a boil - the water, vinegar and coarse salt for 2-3 minutes. Pour hot brine over pickles. Leave for 6 weeks before using
