FAVOURITE MUSHROOMS

Ingredients

  • 24 large fresh mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp hard margarine
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzaralla cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Remove stems from mushrooms. Chop stems finely. Set aside.

Melt margarine in medium frying pan on medium-high. Add onion, ground beef and celery. Scramble-fry until onion is softened and beef is no longer pink.

Add reserved mushroom stems and next 5 ingredients. Stir well. Remove from heat. Divide and stuff filling into mushroom caps. Arrange in single layer on ungreased baking sheet.

Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and mozarella cheese. Broil on second rack from top for about 5 minutes until heated through. Serve immediately.
