  • 1 c soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 2 c water
  • 1/4 c non-iodized salt (iodized salt can add an odd flavor, use kosher or pickling salt)
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1 t ground black pepper

Mix everything together on the stove top and still until the solids are disolved, cool then marinate.
