Ingredients
- TOPPING:
- 3 lbs turnip, cut-up
- 2 large eggs, fork beaten
- 1 tbsp brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp hard margarine (or butter)
- 1/2 cup soda cracker crumbs
Preparation
Step 1
Cook turnip in water in large saucepan until very soft. Drain well. Mash.
Combine next 6 ingredients in small bowl. Mix. Add to turnip. Beat well. Turn into ungreased 2 quart casserole
TOPPING: Melt margarine in small saucepan. Stir in cracker crumbs. Sprinkle over top. Bake, uncovered in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes until set.
