Marianne's mac and chees

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Flour
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 3 Cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 lb elbow or shell pasta
  • salt/pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pasta to al dente.

2. Melt butter and mix in flour. Cook on low/med till it turns the color of peanut butter, about 10 mins. Add milk and bring to a boil. Once it thickens, add 2 cups of cheese and nutmeg, plus salt and pepper to taste and mix till cheese melts.

3. Combine pasta and cheese sauce. Put in greased casserole dish and cover with remaining cup of shredded cheese. Place under boiler till cheese is melted and bubbly.
