Better than football cake

Ingredients

  • 1 18.25 box yellow cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix.
  • 1 20oz. can crushed pineapple
  • 1 1/3 C. sugar
  • 1 small box French Vanilla pudding, plus ingredients to prepare.
  • Large tub of Cool Whip
  • A cup or two of toasted coconut

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350
Prepare yellow cake mix as directed using a greased 13x9 pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. While cake is baking, combine pineapple and 1 c sugar, or less, in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
Remove cake from oven and with a fork, pierce holes in cake. Pour pineapple mix over hot cake and set aside.
Prepare pudding according to package directions. Spread pudding over cake and refrigerate until chilled. Cover with Cool Whip and toasted coconut. Enjoy!
