Beef Stew in Marsala

Ingredients
- 3 pounds lean stewing beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 yellow onions, peeled and chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 cup Marsala wine
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation
Step 1
Brown meat in oil very quickly over high heat. Remove from the pan and saute onion and garlic together until the onions brown a bit. You may have to add oil.
Add the remaining ingredients to a stewpot. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until all is tender. Serve with rice.
