Butter Frosting

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons soft butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • few grains salt
  • 2 cups sifted icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons warm cream or milk

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter. Beat in vanilla and salt. Blend in icing sugar alternately with 2 - 2 1/2 T milk. Beat until smooth and of good spreading consistency. Add more icing sugar or milk if necessary.

CHOCOLATE BUTTER FROSTING: Prepare Butter Frosting, adding 1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted, to the creamed butter.

COCOA BUTTER FROSTING: Prepare Butter Frosting, adding 3 T cocoa with icing sugar.
