Ingredients
- 1 ounce greased swiss cheese (gruyere, emmentaler), prepare the night before and allow to dry out
- 1 1/2 cups beer
- 1 tablespoon potato flour
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- French Bread
Preparation
Step 1
Heat beer to the boiling point. Add grated cheese a little at a time, stirring until it is melted. Mix potato flour, water, salt, pepper and nutmeg until smooth and stir into cheese and beer mixture. Cook over low heat until smooth, stirring constantly until thickened. Keep mixture hot over a small burner when serving.
