Nut Horns

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 pound margarine
  • 1/2 pint sour cream

  • 2 cups ground walnuts
  • 1 cup hot milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

Cut margarine into flour with pastry blender. Stir in sour cream, knead slightly, form into balls (I made 3), and refrigerate 20 minutes. Combine nuts, hot milk, honey, sugar, and margarine in saucepan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Reduce heat, stir in eggs and salt and cook until thick (consistency of oatmeal). Let cool. Roll out dough in powdered sugar (about a 24”x8” rectangle) and cut into 2” squares, fill, and fold into 2 corners, place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 375° for 15 minutes. Note: If desired sprinkle cookies with powdered sugar when cool.
