Almond Coconut Macaroons (Sue W)

Ingredients

  • 7 oz almond paste, shredded
  • 6 egg whites
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 14 oz coconut
  • 24 marischino cherry halves

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 300 degrees. Combine paste, egg whites, and sugar in saucepan. Cook 6-8 minutes stirring constantly until spoon drawn through leaves a path. Mix in coconut. Drop by rounded spoonfuls on parchment lined cookie sheet. Press a cherry half in the center of each. Bake 25-30 minutes.
