Peanut Hoisin Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water plus 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp peanut butter

Preparation

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and 2 tbsp water. Set aside.

In medium skillet, heat oil to med hi. Add garlic and cook 15-30 seconds. Do not brown.

Add hoisin, vinegar, and 1/3 cup water. Bring to boil, stirring. Stir in peanut butter until incorporated. Stir cornstarch mixture and add to sauce. Stir until thickened. Add small portion of Asian chili sauce, if desired, and stir to combine. Serve as dipping sauce with spring rolls.
