Ingredients

    cups day-old bread, cubed

  • 1 1/2

    tsp poultry seasoning

  • 1

    tsp salt

  • 1/4

    tsp pepper

  • 3/4

    cup butter

  • 1/2

    cup onions, chopped

  • 1/2

    cup celery, chopped

  • 3

    Tbs parsley, chopped or dried

  • 1/4

    cup water

Directions

1. In a large skillet melt butter, add onion and celery; saute until clear. Add seasonings and water. Stir in bread. Heat through but don't brown. 2. Stuff bird with mixture and bake. Or add 1 cup chicken broth and bake covered at 350° for 45 min. Remove cover for the last 15 min. Cooking Tip: 1 lb. Loaf of bread makes about 12 cups when cubed. Cooking Tip: Only have to double the recipe now for all of us. When Jason was a teenager and John was eating more, I multiplied the recipe times five to get enough stuffing!
