Strawberry Basil Lemonade
- 1 C fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 4 C water
- 3/4 C sugar
- 1 C loosely packed basil leaves
- 1/2 C frozen strawberries in syrup, thawed
- 6 fresh strawberries
- Gin or vodka
Add juice, water and sugar to a large pitcher, stir to combine and dissolve the sugar. Refrigerate overnight or until cold.
Set aside a few basil leaves for garnish. Place the remaining leaves in a small pan with 1/2 cup water and brew basil tea. Strain cooled tea and add to pitcher.
Puree thawed strawberries and add to pitcher, stir well. Fill glasses with ice, add shot of gin or vodka if desired. Pour lemonade over ice and garnish with fresh basil leaves and strawberries.
