Berry almond dutch baby

Ingredients

  • 3 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (more or less to taste)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 or 1 1/2 cups mixed berries (we used blueberries and raspberries)
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds, well toasted
  • Powdered sugar
  • Lemon wedges
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 450 F
Whisk together eggs, sugar, flour, milk, extract, salt until blended but still lumpy
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter remaining on low heat in a 12 inch ovenproof skillet
Add berries and cook until warmed, about 2 minutes
Pour the batter into the heated skillet and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown
Remove from the oven and quickly sprinkle with toasted almonds and powdered sugar. Serve immediately
If sharing, cut slices as you would cut a slice of cake
