SHERRY/APPLE PORK CHOPS

Ingredients

  • 6 thick pork chops
  • 3 large apples, cored and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup sherry

Preparation

Step 1

In a heavy skillet brown pork chops on both sides in a small amount of oil. Set aside.

Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish. Arrange apple slices in bottom of dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Dot with butter. Top with browned pork chops; season chops to taste with salt and pepper. Pour sherry over all.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until pork is tender.
