Minestrone

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 10 1/2 oz beef bouillon cubes (10x6 g)
  • 10 cups boiling water
  • 14 oz canned tomtatoes, broken up
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup diced carrot
  • 1 1/2 diced potato
  • 1 cup chopped cabbage
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp each pepper and garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp each basil and oregano
  • 8 oz fusilli
  • 14 oz kidney beans or garbanzo, drained

Preparation

Step 1

Scramble-fry bacon, onion, ground beef to brown. Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water and add to meat. Add next 10 ingredients. Bring to a boil Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender, about 25 mintues. Add raw pastaa and beans. Boil slowly for 10 minutes or until pasta is tender.
