Chocolate Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup Dutch processed unsweetened cocoa powder
  • dash of salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

In saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cocoa and salt. Add water and mix well. Bring to boil over medium heat; lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and add vanilla. Let syrup cool before storing in refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. To make hot chocolate, stir 4 T syrup into 1 cup hot milk or almond milk.
