Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp cream tartar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 cup powder sugar
• 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter, shortening and sugars. Sift dry ingredients. Mix with sugar. Shape into balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Press with glass bottom dipped in sugar. Bake flat cookies at 375 F 7 - 8 min.
