Ingredients
- AP Flour------------------2 1/2 cups
- Unsalted butter-----------2 sticks (cut into half inch size)
- Salt-----------------------1 tsp.
- Granulated sugar----------1 tsp.
- Cold water-----------------1/4 to 1/2 cup
Preparation
Step 1
Add dry ingredients into food processor bowl
Pulse 4-5 times to combine salt and sugar
Add cold butter and pulse until butter is pea size NO SMALLER
Add 1/4 cup of cold water and pulse 4-5 time (check mix by taking a small portion into the palm of your hand and squeeze--if mix takes shape when squeezed than do not add water; otherwise add the other 1/4 cup cold water and pulse 4-5 times and stop.
Take a sheet of plastic wrap and pour about half of the dough mix on
Using your hands wrapped in the plastic press down with your knuckles on the dough mix to shape.
Continue shaping in a circular motion until dough has come together and forms a disk.
Use a rolling pin to press the dough into the plastic wrap.
Using a plastic bench scraper to form the disk round shape
Refrigerate for about 1 hour no more otherwise dough will crumble while rolling
