Ingredients
- Cake
- 1 pkg. Dark Chocolate Cake Mix
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 21 oz. can cherry fruit pie filling
- 3 eggs
- Glaze
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 350.
Grease and flour 12-cup fluted tube pan. In large bowl, blend cake ingredients until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 for 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool upright in pan 25 minutes; turn onto serving plate.
Cool completely.
Glaze
In small saucepan, blend chocolate chips, butter and milk over low heat until chocolate melts, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar until smooth. If needed, add a few more drops of milk for desired consistency. Spoon over cooled cake.
