Orange Cinnamon Poppy Seed Cake

  • Filling:
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Brown Sugar
  • 4 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbs. Poppy Seeds
  • Cake:
  • 1 Pkg. Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Pkg. Vanilla Instant Pudding
  • 1 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 4 Large Eggs



Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan. For the filling, place the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and poppy seeds in a small mixing bowl and stir until well combined. Set the bowl aside. In a large mixing bowl combine cake mix, pudding mix, orange juice, oil and eggs. Mix with electric mixer for 3 minutes. Pour half the batter into a prepared pan. Scatter half the filling over the batter and swirl with a dinner knife. Pour the rest of the batter over the filling and scatter the remaining filling over top of the batter and swirl again with the knife. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-38 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and the center springs back when lightly touched. Cool cake in the pan for 20 minutes, then remove from pan and place on a wire rack, then invert it again onto a wire rack so the cake is right side up. Cool completely and slice.
