CREAMED CHICKEN ON TOAST

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter/marg
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 3 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 10 oz. cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp thyme
  • 3 cups cooked chicken (cut up)
  • bread slices, toasted and butter

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in heavy saucepan. Add onion and celery. Saute until soft and clear.
Sprinkle with flour. Mix well. Add next 6 ingredients. Stir until it boils and thickens.
Add chicken and heat through.
Place 2 slices of toast on each plate. Divide creamed chicken among them.
