Ingredients
- 7 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 5 carrots, grated
- 4 beets, grated
- 1 medium cabbage, grated
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup butter
- finely chopped celery, optional
Preparation
Step 1
In large pot half full of boiling salted water, cook potatoes. DO NOT DRAIN. Mash.
Add carrots and beets. Bring to a boil and simmer a few minutes.
Meanwhile, melt butter in large skillet and fry cabbage and celery with onion and garlic. Add pepper. Add to pot. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Just before serving stir in some cream or sour cream.
