Nordman's Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. diced pork or pork sausage
  • 2 lbs. diced beef or hamburger
  • 1 + lb. onions, diced
  • 1 + lb. green peppers, diced
  • 2 - 4 oz. chili powder
  • 2 - 4 oz. garlic salt to taste
  • 2 - 4 oz.mustard
  • 6- 8 lbs. cooked pinto beans
  • 4 -5 lbs. canned corn ( reserve
  • liquid)
  • cumin

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pork and beef in large pot till done. Mix well, to insure no large chunks. Drain meat and return to heat. Add chili powder, which will provide basic taste, not hotness. Add onions and peppers, cook till onions are transparent. Add garlic, salt and mustard to taste. Add beans and corn. Stir often.
Add fluid from corn for desired consistency.
Add cumin to taste. Cumin provides spiciness.
If chili is not hot enough, add tabasco sauce.
Simmer on low heat.
