Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Pizza Sauce
- 5 1/2 ounces can tomato paste
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- pinch pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve sugar in water then sprinkle with yeast. Let stand 10 minutes. Stir briskly with a fork.
In a large bowl combine softened yeast mixture together with oil, water, salt and first amount of flour. Beat vigorously by hand or with electric mixer. Gradually beat in additional amount of flour. Turn onto a floured surface and knead. Shape into a smooth ball and place in a greased bowl, rotating dough to grease surface. cover with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled (about 45 minute). Keep in warm place.
Mix together all sauce ingredients.
