Ingredients
- 1 C all purpose flour
- 1/2 t salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 C milk
- Crisco or rendered beef fat for coating pans
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450
Sift together flour and salt.
Beat 3 eggs lightly and add to 1 C of milk. Combine wet and dry ingredients and beat until well combined. The batter should have the consistency of heavy cream. Heat iron popover pans until sizzling hot and coat generously with Crisco and re heat to allow Crisco to melt into pans.
Fill the cups 1/2 full with batter and bake for 15/20 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 and cook until done 15 to 30 minutes. Serve warm.
