Ingredients

  • 6 to 7 medium mixed colors bell peppers, washed and seeded
  • 2 pounds ground beef (I sometimes add a little Italian Sausage to the mix
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 cups stewed tomatoes
  • 3/4 cup rice, cooked
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon steak sauce

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place peppers in a stock pot, add enough water to cover, bring water to boil, add peppers and cook approx. 5 minutes. Remove peppers from water and set aside.

2. In a saucepan, brown beef and onions in hot oil, drain.

3. Add tomatoes, rice, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the onions in the pan. Cover and simmer until rice is tender.

4. Add cheese and steak sauce; stuff peppers. Place stuffed pepers in a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
Nice to pour a little tomatoe juice over the top, to keep the mixture moist.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
