Eight Layer Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 T. cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 t. onion powder
  • 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. each salt and black pepper
  • 2/3 c. long grain rice
  • 8 3/4 oz. whole kernel corn
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 3 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Combine ground beef evenly over the bottom of crockpot. Sprinkle with bacon and onion powder. In a medium bowl combine tomato paste, salt, pepper, water and chili powder. Pour half ovefr bacon and onion powder. Sprinkle rice over top and then corn. Add remaining tomato sauce mixture. Cover and cook on low about 5 hours. During the last 5 minutes of cooking sprinkle cheddar cheese over top of casserole and cover.
