Ingredients
- 1 (16 oz.) can sliced or diced beets
- 2 Tbs. sugar
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 3 Tbs. vinegar
- 1 Tbs. butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare, peel, slice and cook beets. Drain canned beets, reserve 1/3 cup liquid. Combine sugar, cornstarch and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Stir in reserved beet liquid, vinegar and butter. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Stir in cooked or canned beets. Cook and stir 5 minutes.
