Ingredients
- 2 pkgs. active yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (105 -115 deg.)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup shortening (part butter)
- 4 cups flour
- soft butter
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Stir in sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and 2 cups flour.
Beat til smooth.
Add about 2 cups more flour.
Scrape dough from sides of bowl.
Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours.
Divide dough in half; roll each 1/2 into a 12" circle.
Spread with softened butter and cut into 16 wedges.
Roll up each wedge, beginning at rounded edge.
Place rolls with point at bottom on greased baking sheet.
Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 -15 minutes.
Brush with butter while hot.
Yield: 32 rolls
