Instant Pot Refried Beans - Jerika

Ingredients

  • 5 cups pinto beans washed and sorted
  • 1 onion
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • salsa to taste
  • garlic salt to taste
  • Better than boullion (about a tsp per 2 cups mashed beans)

Preparation

Step 1

Put beans, chopped onion and garlic in instant pot and cover 2 inches over the beans with water. Cook for 45 minutes. Let pressure release on it's own for 10 minutes then quick release the rest. Drain most of the liquid off but save in case you need to add it back in as you mash the beans by hand. You can also blend in a blender. Add Better Than Boullion and garlic salt and some salsa to taste.
