Ingredients
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 T. cooking oil
- 2 1/2-3 lb. chicken, cut up
- 3/4 c. cubed cooked ham
- 1 (10 3/4-oz.) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
- 1 (8-oz.) can undrained stewed tomatoes
- 1 lg. onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. leaf basil
- 1/2 bag of noodles
Preparation
Step 1
Mix together flour, paprika, salt and pepper in a plastic pag. Put chicken in bag and holding the top tightly, shake to coat the chicken with the flour, etc. Heat oil in skillet. Brown chicken in hot oil, 10 minuntes on each side. While chicken is cooking, boil water and cook some noodles to serve with the chicken. Combine ham, cheese soup, tomatoes, onion and basil. Either cook on stove or in oven. To cook on stove: Pour ingredients mixture over chicken in skillet. Cover and cook over low heat 30-35 minutes or until chicken is tender. Remove cover from chicken; continue cooking a few minutes to thicken sauce. To cook in the oven: Place chicken in bottom of baking dish or pan. Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over chicken. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.
