Tea Cakes (Grandma Kelly's- this was Johnny's grandmother)

Ingredients

• 4 cups flour (I replaced 2 cups of the flour with White Whole Wheat)
• 4 tsp. baking powder
• 1 cup Crisco ( Butter flavor)
• 1 pinch of salt
• 2 cups sugar (We prefer a less sweet cookie, we use 1&1/2 cups)
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 cup milk
• 2 tsp. vanilla
• After making 3/4 of the cookies I added cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger to the last of the dough.

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven at 350
Beat the eggs in a small bowl. In a large bowl cream Crisco and sugar. Add beaten eggs, vanilla and milk. Add flour mixture and mix well. Turn out onto a floured board and knead slightly. Roll out and cut with a cookie cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 15 minutes. Can sprinkle with sugar before baking if you would like too.
