Ingredients

  • 2 whole store bought roasted chickens
  • 2 tbsp. veg. oil
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • diced carrots
  • diced celery
  • 6 cans chicken broth
  • 2 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • salt, pepper
  • flour for dusting
  • 1 container Pillsbury Grands
  • 1 can condensed chicken gravy

Preparation

Step 1

Remove skin and bones from chickens, shred meat into large pieces, set aside.

In large heavy pot or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, carrots and celery. Cook until soft, about 10 min.

Add broth, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper and chicken. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 min.

Prepare dumplings. On flour dusted surface, roll out each biscuit and cut into 1 in. strips with pizza cutter.

Skim off any fat that has risen to the surface of the soup. Stir in chicken gravy. Stir in dumplings a few at a time. Cover tightly and simmer for 15 min or more.
