Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk or almond milk
  • 2 large apples, peeled and chopped and mixed with 2 teaspoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • GLAZE
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-3 teaspoon milk or cream

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour loaf pan.

Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together and set aside.

Beat sugar and butter with electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

Beat in eggs one at a time, add vanilla.

Combine and whisk flour and baking powder together and add slowly to butter mixture.

Add milk and mix until smooth.

Pour half of the batter into prepared loaf pan, add half the apple mixture, add walnuts. Then add half of the sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Lightly pat apple mixture into the batter. Pour the remaining batter and top with the remaining apples and walnuts. Add the remaining brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Lightly pat apples into batter and swirl brown sugar mixture through apples using a knife.

Bake for 50-60 minutes until toothpick inserted in the center of loaf comes out clean.

Let cool and then remove from pan and drizzle with glaze.

GLAZE
Combine powdered sugar and milk, mix.
