Chocolate Caramel Oatmeal Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup quick cooking oatmeal
  • 1 cup milk chocolate candies with caramel centres
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 * 13 ban with parchment paper
2. In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking soda and salt until mixed.
3. Using a beater, beat butter, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy.
4. Beat in flour mixture.
5. Mix in oatmeal.
6. Press 2/3 of the misture into pan. Bake until golden brown around the edges about 25 minutes.
7. Add 1/2 of the milk chocolate candies into mixture.
8. Remove base from oven. Drizzle condensed milk over the base. Sprinkle with remaining candies and chocolcate chips. Crumble oatmeal over top.
9. Bake until topping is golden brown, about 25-27 minutes.
