Ingredients

  • Filling:
  • 50 g margarine, softened
  • 4 c sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 c flour
  • 2 T milk
  • 3 T Osem jelly, flavor of choice
  • 1/2 c boiling water
  • Decoration:
  • Egg yolk
  • Demrara Sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Dough:
Mix together margarine, sugar, and vanilla. Slowly add in the flour to the mixture. Add the milk and make a ball out of the dough. Preheat the oven to 180°. Place baking paper on the pan. Flatten the dough and cut out shapes with big cookie cutters. Then in the middle of those cookies, cut out shapes with small cookie cutters. Bake in the oven for about 20 min. Remove from oven and spread a little egg yolk and sprinkle the Demrara sugar. Put back in oven for 5 more minutes. Remove.

Filling:
In a small bowl, add the boiling water to the jelly powder. Place in the hole in the middle of each cookie a spoonful of the jelly. Place in freezer for 15 minutes and keep refrigerated until serving.
