Ingredients

  • 3 T butter
  • 1 small onion, peeled and sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 T flour
  • 1 c chicken broth
  • 2 c milk
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp thyme leaves, divided
  • 4 lbs potatoes sliced thin
  • 1/2 c parmesan
  • 1 1/2 shredded cheddar

Preparation

Step 1

Saute onions in butter and add garlic for 1-2 minutes./stir in flour until combined.
add milk and seasoning and whisk until smooth.
Simmer for a minutes
Remove
Grease 9x13 and spread1/2 potatoes.Top evenlu with cream sause and sprinkle 1 c cheese.and all of parmesan. Top with remaining potatoes and remaining sauce and remaining cheese.Cover and bake in 400 oven for 30 minutes.
Remove foil and bake 25-30 more
Sprinkle with remaining thyme.
