CHOCOLATE CREAM CAKE

  • 1 pkg. vanilla pudding (not instant)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pudding mix and milk over medium heat until mixture comes to full boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat cook completely. Stir together flour, soda, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs, blend in chocolate and vanilla. Add flour with buttermilk. Stir in nuts and place in a 13 X 9 inch pan, spread ½ of batter in greased pan. Spoon pudding evenly over batter and spread in remaining batter over pudding. Frost with chocolate frosting
