Beef tips with gravy

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 lbs cubed beef stew meat
  • 2.5 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 packet dry brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

In large skillet heat oil over high heat. Saute the onion until almost translucent.

Add stew meat and cook until meat is brown on all sides.

Pour in beef broth and seasonings. bring to a boil and reduce heat. Cover and simmer (at least 30 minutes).

Meanwhile, combine the gravy mix with 1 cup water. Mix thoroughly and stir into meat mixture. Bring to a boil stirring frequently until slightly thickened.

*If you would like it thicker, add a little cornstarch to water, mix well and add to pan. Stir.
