Ingredients

  • Use about a quart of dried fruit
  • 5 5 5 Cups flour
  • 4 4 4 tsp. Baking powder
  • 2/3 2/3 2/3 C. shortening
  • 1 1 1 tsp. Salt
  • 2 2 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 2 2 whole eggs
  • 1 1 can 1 large can condensed milk
  • Mix well. Let stand in refrigerator over night or several hours.

Step 1

Cook dried fruit in enough water to cover. Sweeten to taste. Mash.

Let cool before making pies.

Mix dry ingredients with eggs and milk

Let stand in refrigerator over night or several hours.

Pinch off small balls, roll them out in rounds (placing small cereal bowl over and cutting around.) Do this until you have at least a doz. Cut ready to fill. On one half place a tablespoon of fruit. Brush edge with water. Fold over. Press edge with fork. Also prick top several times. Cook in about an inch hot Crisco or oil. Drain on paper towel. These can be frozen
