Creme Brulee French Toast

Creme Brulee French Toast 0 Picture


  • 1/2 c unsalted butter
  • 2 T corn syrup
  • 1 c packed brown sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • Loaf of french bread sliced thick
  • 1.5 c half and half
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp grand marnier
  • 1/4 tsp salt



Step 1

Melt butter in small saucepan. Mix in brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring well til sugar is dissolved.

Pour into 9x14 baking dish

Arrange sliced bread in baking dish in a slanted domino fashion. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, vanilla, grand marnier and salt. Pour over bread. Cover and chill overnight.

Preheat oven to 350. Bring dish to room temp. Bake uncovered 35-40 min. til puffed and lightly browned. Cut in squares and serve with warmed maple syrup.
