Oatmeal Cookies

These cookies have a cake like texture, with a hint of cinnamon.

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/4 cup milk
• 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate or milk chocolate chips
• 1 2/3 cups quick cooking oatmeal
• 1 1/2 cup flour
• 3/4 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and milk and continue to mix. Stir in the chocolate chips and oatmeal. and mix. Stir together the dry ingredients and add to the oatmeal mixture. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. You can add chopped walnuts too if you want.
