Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 T. all purpose flour
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 t. ground black pepper
  • 1 t. salt

Preparation

Step 1

In a large cast iron skillet, cook sausage, bacon, onion and garlic over medium-high heat until sausage is browned and crumbly; 8 - 10 minutes. Stir in flour, and cook, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes. Gradually stir in half-and-half, pepper, and salt, and cook until gravy is thickened, about 5 minutes. Serve immediatley with biscuits.
