The holidays aren't the same unless you have some classic thumbprint cookies on hand, just make sure to save some for Santa!
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup self rising flour
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
- Colored icing
Preparation time 10mins
Cooking time 20mins

Press together shortening, margarine, brown sugar, and yolk of the egg
Add flour to the mix.
Dip each cookie in beaten egg white and roll in chopped pecans.
Place on a greased cookie sheet and press the center to create indentation.
Bake in 400°F oven until done. About 8 to 10 minutes.
Fill center dimple of each cookie with icing.
