Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine brown sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Add pineapple juice, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat; let cool slightly. Serve immediately, or store in refrigerator. Yield: about 1-1/2 cups sauce.
NOTES : This is the sauce used in my Mom's Sweet and Sour Chicken, and it's such a great tasting sauce to use for other dishes as well. Make this next time you want sweet and sour sauce for dipping.
