Preparation

Step 1

For crust: Mix dry ingredients; cut in shortening using 2 forks; mixture should look like coarse cornmeal crumbs. Add water gradually til dough forms a ball. Divide into 2 balls (top & bottom). Roll one ball & line a well greased 14" pan or 14" Dutch oven. Roll out other ball & cut into strips to make a lattice top.

Filling: Melt butter in saucepan; add peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, sugar, half & half & Jack Daniels. Mix well. Pour filling over prepared bottom crust. Cover top with strips of dough, working into a lattice top (can also just lay whole crust on top & cut slits). Bake at 350º for 45-50 minutes or til golden brown. For a crispier topping, brush top crust with milk & sprinkle with sugar before baking.
