Deana's Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large carrot, grated
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 large celery stalk, chopped
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes, canned
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 bay leaf

Preparation

Step 1

Saute, all vegetables in olive oil till tender but not browned. Add rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil, Then simmer 2 hous. Serve over cooked pasta.
